What is Vana (VANA)?

Vana is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed to give users full ownership and control of their data. Addressing the increasing need for decentralized, user-first solutions, Vana combines the capabilities of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with a vision to transform how data is handled and monetized.

Vana is built as a secure and scalable network, offering developers and users a decentralized framework tailored to applications that prioritize privacy and user autonomy. Its architecture focuses on speed, scalability, and empowering users, providing a strong platform for building decentralized applications (dApps).

VANA Network

The VANA Network is designed around two core layers:

  1. Data Liquidity Layer This foundational layer treats data as a flexible and tradeable asset. It authenticates, tokenizes, and enables the exchange of data through decentralized markets known as DataDAOs.
  2. Data Portability Layer This application-focused layer ensures data can move seamlessly across platforms and systems while keeping users in control.

The Vana blockchain functions as an open, real-time ledger that tracks the flow of data across its ecosystem.

How Does Vana Work?

Vana provides a secure way for individuals to share and benefit from their data while maintaining control. Here’s how:

  1. You Control Your Data Vana puts the power over personal data back in your hands. Instead of relying on centralized servers controlled by corporations, users can store their data in private, secure locations. You decide when and with whom your data is shared.
  2. Data Liquidity Pools (DLPs) Vana introduces Data Liquidity Pools, which allow groups of users to combine their data for purposes like training AI models. These pools benefit from diverse contributions, which enhance AI performance. Even when pooled, your data remains yours, and its use is subject to your approval.
  3. Privacy and Security First Cutting-edge tools, such as secure enclaves and cryptographic proofs, safeguard your data. These technologies ensure that your information stays private, even during processes like AI training, preventing unauthorized access or misuse.
  4. Tokenized Data Rights When you share your data through Vana, you earn tokens that reflect your contributions. These tokens serve as proof of your involvement and ensure you’re rewarded whenever your data is utilized to improve AI.
  5. Shared Ownership of AI Models A defining feature of Vana is that AI models trained on shared data are collectively owned by the contributors. Instead of profits being centralized, contributors benefit equally, promoting a more inclusive and fair AI ecosystem.
  6. Decentralized and Open Infrastructure The platform’s decentralized design ensures accessibility for everyone. It is fully open source, allowing developers to build on its foundation. The Open Data Foundation drives the protocol’s adoption, while organizations like Corsali contribute to advancing research and technology.

Vana creates a fairer and more transparent data economy, giving users control and enabling collaboration while promoting innovation in AI.

Key Features of Vana

Vana tackles significant issues in the modern data landscape by focusing on:

  • Data Ownership: Users retain full control of their personal information.
  • Privacy: Advanced security measures keep data safe and protected.
  • Fair Rewards: Individuals are compensated for the value their data generates.
  • Collaborative AI: AI models are developed and owned collectively by the Vana community.
  • Open Access: The Vana platform operates as open-source, decentralized, and permissionless infrastructure.

What is VANA Token?

The $VANA token serves as the backbone of the VANA ecosystem, enabling core operations and encouraging user engagement. With a total supply capped at 120 million tokens, it plays an essential role in maintaining and expanding the network.

Token Utilities

  1. Securing the Network Validators use $VANA to stake and secure the blockchain. In return, they earn rewards for contributing to the network’s stability and reliability.
  2. Transaction Costs All network activities, such as executing smart contracts or interacting with DataDAOs, require $VANA for transaction fees.
  3. DataDAO Operations Users stake $VANA in DataDAOs to support data liquidity pools, ensuring contributors are rewarded for sharing their data.
  4. Governance Token holders can vote on proposals that shape the network’s direction, making $VANA central to VANA’s decentralized decision-making process.
  5. Access to Data $VANA acts as the currency for acquiring datasets in DataDAOs. This allows users to access tokenized data for use in various applications.

Token Supply and Allocation

  • Maximum Supply: 120,000,000 $VANA
  • Genesis Token Supply: 112,641,600 $VANA (93.87% of the maximum supply)
  • Initial Circulating Supply: 30,084,000 $VANA (25.07% of the maximum supply)

The design of VANA’s tokenomics ensures long-term sustainability, rewarding early adopters and those who actively participate in staking and governance. This structured approach supports the network’s growth and its focus on decentralized data ownership and monetization.

VANA’s Launch on Binance Launchpool

On December 13, 2024, Binance introduced VANA as the 62nd project on its Launchpool platform, marking a significant achievement for the ecosystem. This launch provided users with an accessible way to get involved with the project.

A total of 4,800,000 $VANA tokens (4% of the total supply) were allocated as farming rewards through the Launchpool. Following this, Binance listed $VANA for trading on December 16, 2024. Initial trading pairs included VANA/USDT, VANA/BNB, VANA/FDUSD, and VANA/TRY.

Where to Trade the VANA Token?

The VANA token is not only available on major centralized exchanges like Bybit, Bitget and Gate.io but can also be accessed on decentralized platforms such as PancakeSwap. Additionally, VANA is listed on tracking and analytics platforms like CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko, offering users comprehensive insights into its market activity and performance.
