We often tell clients: if your token is not on CoinMarketCap, it barely exists for a large part of the crypto market.

That line is intentionally blunt. Your contract can be live, your community can be active and trading can already be open. But when a user, partner, exchange or investor searches for the token and cannot find a proper CoinMarketCap page, the project is harder to verify, harder to compare and easier to ignore.

CoinMarketCap is not the market itself, and a listing is not an endorsement. But it is one of the places where the market goes to answer basic questions quickly: What is this token? What is the correct contract? Where does it trade? What is the circulating supply? How much volume is being tracked? Who is talking about it?

That is why a CoinMarketCap presence matters. It turns scattered information into one public reference point.

A CMC page does not prove a project is good. It makes the project easier to find, verify and compare.

One page turns scattered project data into a market profile

The Coin Detail Page is where users can understand the token in a few minutes instead of hunting through Telegram, X and block explorers.

The page can show the name, ticker, logo, contract, chain, website, whitepaper, socials, explorer, wallets, tags, audit links and Unified Cryptoasset ID. Users can compare the displayed contract with the project’s own materials and avoid lookalike assets or unofficial links.

For tracked assets, the page can display the reference price, 24-hour change, historical chart, market capitalization, 24-hour volume, volume-to-market-cap ratio, fully diluted valuation, circulating supply, total supply and maximum supply. Some pages also show holder counts, token unlock data, TVL-related metrics or other asset-specific indicators.

Market cap and rank are not decorative badges. CMC calculates market cap from reference price multiplied by circulating supply. Its ranking methodology also considers whether supply information can be verified and, for Top 200 eligibility, additional factors such as liquidity, trading activity and consistency across supported exchanges.
So “listed on CMC” and “fully ranked with verified market cap” are not the same thing. An asset may be unverified, untracked, tracked or inactive depending on the information CMC can verify and the markets it supports.

Users can see exactly where the token trades

The Markets section is one of the strongest parts of a Coin Detail Page. It can show centralized and decentralized venues, spot and derivatives markets, trading pairs, prices, order-book depth, 24-hour volume, share of total volume and liquidity-related indicators.
This is visible proof of distribution. Users can see how widely the token trades, whether pricing is reasonably consistent and where volume comes from – more useful than simply claiming “strong liquidity.”

Why people keep returning

A CMC page is not only a one-time profile. It sits inside tools that encourage repeat behavior.

Users can bookmark assets, create watchlists and sync them between web and app. CMC Portfolio lets them record holdings and monitor performance.

Price alerts, charts, news and analytical features give users more reasons to reopen the page when market conditions change. The Community panel can show sentiment, posts, comments, follows and discussion around the token. Teams can use that space for project activity and updates.

Discovery, search and third-party references

A public CMC page gives the token a stable, recognizable URL that can be shared by the team, community, media and partners. It can surface through CMC search, category and ranking pages, market-pair pages, watchlists and related-asset modules.
It can also become a useful branded-search result and third-party reference. A CMC page does not replace a website, whitepaper or independent research, but it shortens the route to all of them.

Promotion options after listing

CoinMarketCap’s current Ads page offers side banners on web Coin Detail Pages, a web search-bar banner, app homepage banners, app Coin Detail Page placements, app search placements, and app watchlist banners. Campaigns are managed rather than self-serve, with budgets generally negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Launch typically takes 5–10 business days after the insertion order is signed, payment is made, and the creatives are approved. Campaigns can be targeted by geography and device, while reporting includes impressions, clicks, and CTR, with support for UTM parameters.

CMC Max is a separate subscription for listed projects. As of August 2026, CMC lists the price at $2,500 per month or $24,000 per year. Benefits include an animated token logo, Gold Verified Community Badge, project updates on the Coin Detail Page, $450 in monthly Boost credits, a 30% discount on eligible CMC ad inventory, and priority handling for two eligible data-update requests per month with a target turnaround of 24 hours on business days.

The CoinMarketCap Media Kit listed examples including homepage sponsorship at $50,000 for seven days; Coin Detail Page placements at $5–$7 CPC; a search-bar ad at $6 CPC; Portfolio and DexScan placements at $4 and $5 CPC; a sponsored deep-dive article at $20,000; Community LIVE packages at $50,000 or $100,000; and social media packages from $30,000 to $100,000. Current pricing and availability may differ.

How Listing.Help can assist

As an official CoinMarketCap partner, Listing.Help manages the entire process and gets projects listed on CMC in an average of 1-3 business days. From preparing and verifying project information to coordinating the listing and follow-up, our team handles every step to make the process fast, clear and efficient.

Listing.Help has worked with crypto projects since 2017, served more than 3,000 clients and built relationships with over 100 partner exchanges. Our team helps projects choose the right listing route, prepare and check documentation, present token and market data consistently, coordinate with exchanges and ranking platforms, avoid costly mistakes, and handle follow-up issues with 24/7 post-listing support.

We can also help projects coordinate advertising campaigns on CoinMarketCap – from selecting suitable placements and preparing campaign materials to managing the approval process with the CMC team.

The goal is not to submit faster at any cost. It is to submit a cleaner case: correct contracts, consistent supply figures, supported markets, clear official links and evidence that CMC can verify.

If your token is already trading but still difficult to find, CoinMarketCap is one of the first visibility gaps to fix.

FAQ

Does a token need to trade on an exchange before it can be listed on CMC?

For a tracked CMC listing, the token must be publicly and actively traded with material volume on at least one exchange tracked by CoinMarketCap. Projects without active trading may still qualify for untracked listing.

How long does the listing take?

With Listing.Help, projects are listed on CoinMarketCap in an average of 1-3 business days. We handle the process from preparing and verifying project data to coordinating the listing and follow-up.

How can project data be updated after listing?

Official project representatives can submit updates through CMC’s Request Form. It provides separate options for supply changes, token swaps, new markets, rebrands, links and other project information. Listing.Help can also prepare the required information and coordinate the update process for the project.

Can a DEX-only token be listed on CoinMarketCap, or is a centralized exchange listing required?

A listing on a centralized exchange is not required. A token that trades only on a DEX can still qualify if it is actively traded and has meaningful volume on a DEX supported by CMC.

Can a project apply to CoinMarketCap before its TGE or before trading begins?

Yes. Projects can apply before trading begins and may initially receive an untracked listing page. Once the token starts trading on an exchange supported by CMC, the listing becomes eligible for tracked status, including live price and volume data.
